JIPMER became an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2008. It is an institution established for teaching, research, and patient care in the area of health. JIPMER spreads over 192 acres. Essential Qualifications: 

(a) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section 13 (3) of the Act).
(b) A postgraduate qualification i.e., M.D. in Relevant field or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.

• Assistant Professor : Level 12 (₹101500–167400)
