Organization Profile: Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University (IGDTU) for Women embarks on its journey to become Prof. Nupur Prakashthe first Technical University for women in the country. IGDTU was established in May 2013 after upgradation of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT), which was created in 1998 by Directorate of Training & Technical Education (DTTE), Govt. of Delhi to provide quality technical education to the women of our country, especially, the state of Delhi. IGIT has made rich contributions in the past 15 years towards providing higher technical education to the women of our country, which constitute 50% of our population and are major contributors to our economic growth. The mandate of this new University is to provide not only good quality technical education to girls of our country but to also make them better human beings, sensitive to environment and societal issues. The formation of this University would further strengthen our teaching and research programs, offer new industry relevant courses, forge alliances with industries and foreign Universities for joint research, collaboration and knowledge exchange, while providing better infrastructure and facilities to our students.

repute.
