The department of Arts and Sculpture became College of Arts and the departments of Chemical Technology and Textile Technology were shifted out en-block to mark beginning of the IIT Delhi at its new campus at Hauz Khas. The department of commerce was later abolished and the faculty of management studies of the University of Delhi was established by Prof. A Das Gupta, of DCE. Delhi College of Engineering is thus the mother institution of a number of national projects including IITD, SPA, College of Arts and even the famous FMS.

Essential Qualifications: Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech in a relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech from a recognized University. Alternatively, candidates with 1st class or equivalent in B.E./B.Tech in a relevant branch along with a Ph.D. in the relevant branch from a recognized University are also eligible. The relevant branches include Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and Control and Instrumentation.

Salary Details: Payment will be made on an hourly basis as per university norms. As per the approved rates, Professors are paid Rs. 2,750/- per hour for theory and Rs. 1,375/- per hour for lab, with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 70,000/- per month. Associate Professors and Assistant Professors who have completed 3 years of service in AGP 8000 under the 6th CPC are paid Rs. 2,250/- per hour for theory and Rs. 1,125/- per hour for lab, with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 70,000/- per month. Assistant Professors not covered above are paid Rs. 1,750/- per hour for theory and Rs. 875/- per hour for lab, with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 52,000/- per month. TA will be paid separately at Rs. 800/- and Rs. 500/- for Professor/Associate Professor and Assistant Professor respectively.
