Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Port Blair came into being on 1st Sep, 2015 (Academic Session 2015-16).Opening up of a Medical College in Port Blair was a long cherished dream of the Islanders for almost 04 decades. 107 acres of land was allocated by A&N Administration for the establishment of the Medical College in mid-80’s. A high level committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration was constituted, which after due deliberation recommended to establish a Medical and an Engineering College at Port Blair.

Qualification & experience: As per NMC Norms
Payments and Emolument:
- For Board Speciality Positions:
- Professor: Consolidated monthly pay of Rs2,75,000/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service for Professor. Academic/ special duty allowance of Rs.30,000/- per month. An amount of Rs.20,000/- will be paid as HRA per month.
- Associate Professor: Consolidated monthly pay of Rs.2,50,000/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service for Associate Professor. Academic/ special duty allowance of Rs.25,000/- per month. An amount of Rs.18,000/- will be paid as HRA per month.
- Assistant Professor: Consolidated monthly pay of Rs.2,05,000/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service for Assistant Professor. Academic/ special duty allowance of Rs.20,000/- per month. An amount of Rs.16,000/- will be paid as HRA per month.
2. For Super Speciality Subjects:
- Associate Professor: Consolidated monthly pay of Rs.2,99,750/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service for Assistant Professor. Academic/ special duty allowance of Rs.25,000/- per month. An amount of Rs.18,000/- will be paid as HRA per month, in case institution is unable to provide accommodation.
- Assistant Professor: Consolidated monthly pay of Rs.2,45,250/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service for Assistant Professor. Academic/ special duty allowance of Rs.20,000/- per month. An amount of Rs.16,000/- will be paid as HRA per month, in case institution is unable to provide accommodation.
3. Senior Resident: For MD/MS/DNB candidates consolidated monthly pay of Rs.1,45,000 per month with 03% annual increment, subject renewal
