About The Civil Engineering Department
The Department of ECE has been established to impart futuristic value based quality education in Electronics and Communication Engineering to the students for the welfare of the society and to enable them to excel in competitive examinations for higher education and employment. The department has a team of committed faculty members who aspire teaching and research with strong knowledge in Electronics, VLSI Design, Communication Systems, and Embedded Systems. The department has established Centres of Excellence such as Keysight Centre for Excellence in RF design and NI-Graphical System Design Centre to promote and develop research capabilities and professional activities of the faculty and the students. The department has been recognised by Anna University as a research Centre.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
The objective of the course is to give better exposure to the faculty members of Anna university affiliated colleges on all the five units of the course EC 3552- VLSI and CHIP Design. Some of the major topics to be covered in this FDTP are:
● MOS transistor characteristics
● Transmission gates and Pass transistors
● Design of combinational circuits with various
logic styles
● Layout diagrams and stick diagrams
● Delay models, Static and dynamic latches
● Sequential circuit design
● Various clocking strategies.
● Power dissipation
● Low power design principles
● Interconnect Parameters, Electrical Wire Models
● Adders, multipliers, comparators, shift registers
● Logic Implementation using PLDs
● Memory Architecture
● Peripheral Circuitry
●Chip fabrication process flow
● Fault models
● ASIC Design Flow
● Writing test benches in Verilog HDL
● Automatic test pattern generation
● Design for testability
Participants:
The faculty members from affiliated institutions of Anna University only can participate.
