Organization Profile: National Institute For Plant Biotechnology (NIPB) is a premier research institution of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The institute was founded in 1985 as the ‘Biotechnology Centre’ of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) for molecular biology and biotechnology research in crop plants. The prescience of the role of biotechnology in agriculture led to a bigger responsibility for this centre and it was elevated as National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology in the year 1993 (Now NIPB).
Job Title: JRF & Laboratory Assistant

- Genomics-led improvement of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in mustard rape for economic and environmental sustainability”
- A way forward to developing aphid-resistance in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea): Host- and virus-mediated gene silencing of parthenogenetic genes in mustard aphid
- Development of haploid inducer line, and enhancement of seed-meal quality in

Job Location: New Delhi
Consolidated Pay: :
- JRF – Rs. 31000/- + HRA for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 35000/- + HRA
for 3rd year and onwards - Laboratory Assistant – : Rs. 20,000/ + 24% HRA
Qualifications:
- JRF – Master’s degree in Plant Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Life science/ Bioinformatics/Basic Biological science/Agriculture or Graduate or Poste Graduate Degree in Professional Courses selected through a process described in SERB Office Memorandum (O.M) No. SB/S9/Z-06/2019 (Dated: 23rdApril, 2019).
- Laboratory Assistant – B.Sc/3 years diploma in Engineering and Technology
Desirable:
- JRF – Working Experience in Molecular Biology Techniques, Bioinformatic tools, prior exposure of working on transcriptomics and gene expression analysis, plant virology
- Laboratory Assistant: Experience in laboratory work, field data collection, computer application and data entry
