Organization Profile: IIT Bombay, the second in the chain of IITs, was set up in 1958.  It was the first IIT to be set up with foreign assistance.  The funds came from UNESCO in roubles from the Soviet Union.  In 1961, the Parliament decreed IITs as ‘Institutes of National Importance’.  Since then, IIT Bombay has grown from strength to strength to emerge as one of the top technical universities in the world.

Job Title: Junior Research Fellow

Title of the Project: Genesis of gold mineralization in the Gadag greenstone belt western Dharwar Craton: Constraints from metamorphism ore mineralogy geochemistry and fluid evolution

Eligibility: M.Sc. in Geology/Applied Geology or MSc. Tech in Applied Geosciences/ Geological Technology or M.Tech Geoexploration, Applied Geology, Exploration Geoscience/Geological Technology with at least 55% marks and passed NET/GATE examination.

Salary: Rs.31000/- p.m. + HRA

Tenure: The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project
