JOB DESCRIPTION – PRINCIPAL (CBSE SCHOOL) 

Job Summary 

The Principal is the academic and administrative head of the CBSE-affiliated school,  responsible for providing visionary leadership, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning,  maintaining full compliance with CBSE norms, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and value driven school culture. 

Key Responsibilities 

Academic Leadership 

  • Provide strong instructional leadership aligned with CBSE curriculum, guidelines, and  educational best practices 
  • Ensure effective implementation of CBSE academic policies, assessments, and  examination procedures 
  • Monitor, evaluate, and enhance teaching quality through classroom observations,  mentoring, and feedback 
  • Promote innovative teaching methods, life skills education, and holistic student  development 
  • Guide curriculum planning, academic calendars, and continuous improvement  initiatives 

Administration & Management 

  • Oversee day-to-day school operations including timetables, admissions, scheduling,  and resource allocation 
  • Ensure compliance with CBSE Affiliation By-Laws, inspections, audits, and mandatory  disclosures 
  • Develop and implement school policies, procedures, and long-term strategic plans
  • Manage school budgets, infrastructure, and resources effectively in coordination with  management

Staff Management

JOB DESCRIPTION – ADMIN & HR OFFICER (CBSE SCHOOL) Job Summary 

The Admin & HR Officer is responsible for managing the school’s human resources, payroll,  statutory compliance, and administrative operations, ensuring adherence to CBSE Affiliation  By-Laws, labor laws, and internal policies while supporting the Principal in smooth school  functioning. 

Key Responsibilities 

Human Resources Management 

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, induction, and exit processes for teaching and non teaching staff 
  • Maintain employee records, service books, attendance, and leave management systems
  • Implement HR policies as per CBSE norms and school management guidelines
  • Coordinate staff performance appraisals, increments, and confirmations
  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters professionally and confidentially 

Payroll & Statutory Compliance 

  • Prepare and process monthly payroll, salaries, deductions, and reimbursements
  • Manage statutory compliance including PF, ESI, gratuity, income tax, and applicable  labor laws 
  • Maintain statutory registers, records, and documentation for inspections and audits
  • Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and government offices 

Administrative Operations 

  • Oversee day-to-day administrative functions of the school 
  • Manage office staff, security, housekeeping, transport, and support services
  • Maintain records related to admissions, transfers, staff appointments, and resignations
  • Ensure proper documentation, filing systems, and record retention practices
  • Supervise procurement of supplies, uniforms, stationery, and vendor coordination 

CBSE Compliance & Documentation 

  • Ensure HR and administrative compliance with CBSE Affiliation By-Laws
  • Maintain staff qualification records, appointment letters, and employment contracts
  • Support CBSE inspections, online submissions, and mandatory disclosures
  • Assist the Principal during CBSE audits, inspections, and affiliation renewal processes

  • Support implementation of child protection policies, POSCO compliance, and staff  code of conduct

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Administration, or Management
