Organization Profile: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by the Government of India with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country.

Qualification:
- Lecturer(Mechanical Engineering): Full time Bachelor’s degree with First Class or equivalent in Engineering / Technology in the relevant discipline. If the candidate has a full time Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology, First Class or equivalent is required at full time Bachelors or Masters level.
- Lecturer(Mathematics, English): Full time First Class Masters degree in relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent at full time Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
- Assistant Placement Consultant: Full time graduate in any discipline with two-year experience in the relevant area. OR M.B.A. (HRM/PM) with one-year experience in the relevant area.
- Instructor Skill Development: Full time First Class B.E./B.Tech, in appropriate/ relevant discipline with minimum 1 year experience. OR First-Class Full-Time Diploma in appropriate branch /DPT/DPMT/PGD-PPT, with minimum 3 year experience.
Remuneration range :
- Lecturer: Rs.30,000/- to Rs.35,000/- per month
- Assistant Placement Consultant: Consolidated Remuneration of Rs.35,000/- per month
- Instructor Skill Development: Rs.25,000 to 30,000/- per month
