Desirable Attributes:

• Ability to guide research, mentor students, and initiate interdisciplinary collaborations.

Nature of Appointment:

• A committee constituted by the higher authorities of the University shall recommend to the Vice-Chancellor, for consideration and appointment, suitable candidates for the positions of Professor of Practice and Associate Professor of Practice after evaluating their profiles_ The committee members may also interact with the candidates online to gain a better understanding of their technical work in the relevant field.
• The initial engagement shall be for a maximum of two semesters. Any extension will be based on the committee’s recommendation, which will consider: (i) the ongoing requirements of the Department, and (ii) the suitability of the Professor, based on student feedback obtained by the Head of the Department. Student feedback shall be collected at the end of each semester and recorded for administrative purposes.
• The maximum duration of service of Professor of Practice and Associate Professor of Practice at a given institution/Department should not exceed three years and is extendable by one year in exceptional cases and the total service should not exceed four years under any circumstances.
• This is a non-regular, non-tenured position with no claim for permanency.
• The Professor/Associate Professor of Practice shall provide guidance and support to the Head of the Department in their area of expertise. ifi addition to teaching courses, thereby enhancing the academic, research and developmental activities of the Department.
• Suitable compensation shall be fixed, not exceeding Rs. 2.0 lakh per month for the Professor of Practice and Rs.1.5 lakh per month for the Associate Professor of Practice.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Handle subjects at the Undergraduate (UG) level, particularly focusing on practical, industry-oriented content and experiential learning
• Deliver lectures and mentor students on current industry practices.
• Develop and revise the curriculum to include real-world applications and technologies
• Facilitate internships, industry visits, and industrial projects.
• Participate in research, consultancy, and entrepreneurship development activities,
• Build collaborations with industry, government, and other external agencies.
