Organization Profile: The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon’ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it.

Job Title: Senior Research Fellowship

Project Title: Aero-Thermo-Elastic Analysis of Hypersonic Vehicle(THV)
Sponsor: Aeronautics R and D Board(Government of India, Ministry of Defence, DRDO Bhawan, Rajaji Marg, New Delhi – 110 011)

Department having vacancy: Aerospace Engineering

Qualification: B. Tech./ B. E. in Aerospace/Mechanical/Civil/Ocean/Naval or relevant field OR ME/ M. Tech in relevant discipline. Selected through a process described through any one of the following: a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR UGC, NET, Including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE. b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR. IIT, IISc. IISER, NISER etc. AND Two years of research experience.

Job Location: Kharagpur, West Bengal

Pay Scale: Upto Rs.42000(depending upon qualification & experience)
