Organization Profile: The Central University of Odisha has been established by the Parliament under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (No. 3C of 2009). It is one of the 15 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan period to address the concerns of “equity and access” and as per the policy of the Government of India to increase the access to quality higher education by people in less educationally developed districts which have a Graduate Enrollment Ratio of less than the national average of 11%. Koraput District of Odisha comes within the KBK region (Koraput, Bolangir, and Kalahandi) which is still considered as an extremely as underdeveloped region of the State of Odisha. These three districts of the State are known for tribal culture because the majority of the people here belong to ST and SC categories. Since there is no University or any other national-level educational set up in this region the Central University is proposed to be established here so that it may widen the access to quality higher education in the country.

Qualifications and Experience required:
- I. A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
II. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
The superannuated teachers will also be considered for engagement of Guest Faculty subject to maximum age of 70 years. - Postgraduate degree in Physical Science (Physics/ Chemistry) with minimum 55%
marks; and M.Ed. degree from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks. - Postgraduate degree in Biological Science (Botany/Zoology) with minimum 55% marks;
and M.Ed. degree from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks. - Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) with minimum 55% marks. (Training/qualification in yoga education shall be desirable)
- Postgraduate degree in Fine Arts (MFA) with minimum 55% marks

Pay Scale: The selected candidates will be paid an honorarium of Rs.1500/-per lecture and a maximum of Rs.50, 000 /- per month as per UGC guidelines on the subject.
