College Profile: Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Port Blair came into being on 1st Sep, 2015 (Academic Session 2015-16). Opening up of a Medical College in Port Blair was a long cherished dream of the Islanders for almost 04 decades. 107 acres of land was allocated by A&N Administration for the establishment of the Medical College in mid-80’s. A high level committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration was constituted, which after due deliberation recommended to establish a Medical and an Engineering College at Port Blair.

Qualification & Scale of Pay: As per NMC norms.
- Professor: As per NMC norms. Consolidated monthly pay of Rs 2, 25,000/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service. (salary is under revision)
- Associate Professor: As per NMC norms. Consolidated monthly pay of Rs 2, 00,000/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service. (salary is under revision)
- Assistant Professor: As per NMC norms. Consolidated monthly pay of Rs 1, 75,000/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service. (salary is under revision)
- Antenatal Medical Offer cum Lecturer/ Assistant Professor: As per NMC norms of Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Consolidated monthly pay of Rs 1, 75,000/- per month initially, with an inbuilt increment of 3% in the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year of continuous service. (salary is under revision)
- Senior Resident (MD/MS/Ph.D.)/ Tutor (M.Sc): As per NMC norms. Consolidated monthly pay of Rs 1, 20, 000/- per month for MD/MS and PhD degree (salary is under revision) and consolidated monthly pay of Rs 1, 02, 000/- per month for M.Sc Degree.
