In January 2015, the University of Hyderabad received the Visitor’s Award for the Best Central University in India, awarded by the President of India.

- Essential:
(i) M.A. in English or Communications with a minimum of 55% marks (with language components) and NET/JRF.
or
(ii) M.A. in any area of English language studies or other allied disciplines with a minimum of 55% marks and NET/JRF.
or
(iii) Ph.D. in English Language Studies/English Linguistics.
Desirable: PGDTE and/ or M.Phil. in English Language Studies/ English Linguistics.
Salary: Honorarium of Rs. 1500 per lecture is paid subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per month.
