Qualification & Experience:
A candidate must satisfy BOTH conditions (A) and (B) below, as prescribed under the UGC (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) Regulations, 2018 and its amendments.
A. Academic Qualification
A Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned / relevant / allied subject from an Indian University, National Institutes or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. In the case of appointment of Assistant Professors in the Departments of Computer Science and Data Science & Analytics (Sl.No. 12), candidates with Masters of Technology in the relevant discipline shall be considered (as per AICTE norms), in addition to Master of Science in the relevant disciplines.
B. Eligibility
(i) The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in the relevant discipline conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, e.g. SLET / SET.
OR
(ii) The candidate must be, or have been, awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time, as the case may be.
NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for candidates holding a Ph.D. awarded in compliance with the above regulations, or for such subjects/disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted, subject to the conditions notified by the UGC.
Relaxation in Minimum Marks
- 5% relaxation (from 55% to 50%) in the marks at the Master’s level shall be allowed for candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
- Relaxation of grade for candidates awarded a Master’s degree only under the Grade Point (rather than percentage) system shall be as per the equivalence prescribed by the UGC.
- Relaxation of 5% shall be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks, to the PhD Degree holders, who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

Documents required: Passport-size photograph and specimen signature; Matriculation/Higher Secondary certificate (proof of DOB); mark sheets and degree certificates; valid NET certificate OR Ph.D. notification/certificate with UGC-Regulations compliance certificate; Caste/PwBD certificate (where claimed); experience certificates, list of publications with proofs and filled Academic/Research Score (API/PBAS) proforma; proof of fee payment and NOC (for in-service candidates).
Selection Process: Short-listing by the Selection Committee based on academic record, teaching experience/research/academic score and ODL-relevant experience, followed by an interview / academic presentation.
