Organization Profile: Sainik School Sambalpur is the 33rd Sainik School in the country and second in the state of Odisha. It was inaugurated by Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha on 27 February 2015. The new building and infrastructure were brought up within five years. The concept of Sainik Schools was conceived by Mr. VK Krishna Menon, Defence Minister of India in the early 1960s. Mr. Menon felt that a school with rudiments of a military way of life in each state of our country could go a long way in building up an infrastructure for intake into the NDA. Thus, Sainik Schools came into being in each state.

Qualification:
- (i) Integrated post Graduate Couse from NCTE recognized university in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate. College of Education of NCERT in the subject concerned.

Master Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the concerned subject or any specialization in concerned subject. Provided the candidate has studied concerned subject at Graduation level also.
(ii) B.Ed or equivalent degree from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
OR
Three years integrated B.Ed – M.Ed from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
OR
Four years Integrated Degree with at least 50% marks from NCTE recognized institution including B.Ed. Component.
(iii) Proficiency in teaching in English medium.
(iv) Should be between 21-40 years of age as on 30 September 2025
