Organization Profile: Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an institution of national importance established through an Act of Indian parliament by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India under the auspices of UNESCO. The primary focus of RCB is to provide world-class education, training, and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high-quality human resources in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology. To this end, the Centre is offering the master’s and doctoral degree programs in biotechnology, while other degrees/diploma programs in niche areas of biotechnology are under development.

Program:
- Ph.D. program in Biostatistics
- Ph.D. program in Bioinformatics
Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Statistics or Mathematics with 60% or more marks.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science/ Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology/ Biotechnology with specialization in Bioinformatics.
Candidate Profile:
- Candidate should completed PG in relevant discipline
- Commitment towards work
- The candidate should have scored at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in the Master’s Degree. Those appearing in the final examination and having secured at least 60% marks on an average in all examinations held during the Master’s degree program are also eligible to apply.
Fees: The student admitted to the Ph.D. program will have to pay the following fees:
- Laboratory Fees Rs. 6000 per semester
- Tuition Fees (1st & 2nd Semester Only) Rs. 6000 per semester
- Academic Administration Fees Rs. 5000 per semester
- Medical Fees Rs. 3000 per semester
- Student Amenities Fees Rs. 1000 per semester
- Caution Money Rs. 5000 (once, at the time of admission, refundable)
- Thesis Examination Fee s Rs. 10000 (at the time of submission of thesis)
