Organization Profile: The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (Formerly Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology) is a pioneer Research and Development Institute under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. Dr. V. Subrahmanyan. an eminent scientist and founder Director, Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, after his retirement, started PPRC in 1967 as R & D laboratory in the Modern Rice Mill complex of Thanjavur Co-operative Marketing Federation (TCMF) at Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India under the dedicated leadership and the able guidance of late. The mandate of the Institute at its inception was to seek solutions for preserving high moisture paddy because the paddy harvest season in Southern India coincided with the tail end of the South West monsoon. The Institute was later upgraded as a national laboratory with the name Paddy Processing Research Centre (PPRC) in 1972. At the time of up-gradation the mandates of the Institute were also changed and the scientists in the Institute focused their research in identifying technologies for post-harvest procession and preservation of paddy. The Institute was moved to it current location at Thanjavur in 1984.

Senior Research Fellow (Institute projects): M.Tech / M.Sc. / Ph.D degree (4 yrs of UG + 2yrs of PG) in Food Technology / Food Process Engineering / Food Science and Technology / Processing and Food Engineering / Post Harvest Technology / Food Technology and Management / Food Process Engineering and Management / Food Plant Operations and Management / Food Safety and Quality Management / Food Supply Chain Management / Food Science / Food & Nutrition / Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Biochemistry / Food Chemistry / Biotechnology / Nanotechnology / Chemical Engineering / Dairy Technology. The desirable qualification is Ph.D with working experience in a Chemical laboratory and experience in handling high-tech.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Pineapple fruit waste (processing by-products) characterization and its utilization in the development of millet-based probiotic fermented products: M.Tech / M.Sc. degree (4 yrs of UG + 2 yrs of PG) in Food Science and Technology / Food Process Engineering / Food & Agricultural Process Engineering / Processing and Food Engineering / Food Microbiology
Project Assistant (PA) (Incubation Centre): B. Tech or B.Sc. (4 years’ program) in Food Process Engineering / Food Technology / Agricultural Engineering / Food Science / Food Science and Nutrition (or) M.Sc. in the above-related disciplines.
Young Professional-II (YP-II) – LO, Bathinda (The Posting will be at IIFPT LO-Batinda, Model Town, Bathinda – 151 001, Punjab): Master degree in Food Engineering / Food Science & Technology / Food Technology / Food Process Engineering / Post Harvest Management / Food Science & Nutrition. Master degree in the above subjects – Candidates having bachelor’s degree in Basic Sciences (3 years) + Masters (2 years) in above-mentioned subjects Preference will be given to candidates having proficiency in Punjabi and Hindi language
Job Location: Thanjavur, Tamilnadu
Period of empanelment for Adjunct Faculty: Initially for 6 months and extendable for every 06 months thereafter based on the performance and requirement.
Tenure of the Project for SRF / JRF / PA / YP: Tenure will be initially for a period of six months or till the completion of the Project Period whichever is earlier and renewable every six months based on the satisfactory performance.
