Randhawa recommended specifically the establishment of Farm Universities and spelt out the basic objectives of these Universities asInstitutional Autonomy ,Inclusion of Agriculture, Veterinary / Animal Husbandry and Home Science and Integration of Teaching, Research and Extension .Later, the report of the Second National Education Commission (1964-66), headed by Dr. D.S. Kothari stressed the need for establishing at least one Agricultural University in each Indian State. As a result, the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) was established on June 12, 1964 at Hyderabad. Sri O. PullaReddi, I.C.S. (Retired) was the first Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Project Title: PPV & FRA DUS-Testing in MAize under Central Sector Scheme for implementation of PVP legislation in DUS

Funded by: GOI

Qualification:

• JRF:
  Essential: Masters Degree in Plant Breeding/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Genetic Resources/ Genetics/ Plant Biotechnology and 2 years experience on research project post qualification. Must have UGC/ CSIR/ ICAR NET qualification or the selection process for the Master Degree through national level examination conducted by Central Govt. Department and their agency and institution.
  Desirable: 1-2 years research experience of conducting field trials/ data collection and analysis/ basic molecular Plant Biotechnology techniques/ writing skills/ crossing and evaluation of genotypes and computer knowledge is must.
• Technical Assistant: Diploma in Agriculture

Duration: Till 31-3-2025 which may be extended, the above posts are on ad-hoc basis and are co-terminus with the project.

Salary:

• JRF: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA Consolidated
• Technical Assistant: Rs. 15,000/-
