Organization Profile: National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is one of the 31 institutions of national importance set up by an Act of Parliament namely the ‘National Institute of technology Act 2007’, and is fully funded by the Government of India. The mandate of the Institute is to provide higher technical education and conduct research in the various branches of Engineering, Science, Technology and Management. Originally established in 1961 as a Regional Engineering College (REC), it was transformed into a National Institute of Technology in 2002. Qualification: Detailed educational qualifications, experience, and other criteria for selection shall be according to the recruitment rules for Faculty in NITs as per Schedule E of the first statutes of the NITs (amendment statutes 2017) issued vide Gazette of India dated 24th July 2017, and clarification issued by Ministry of Education dated 16th April 2019.

Period: The period of probation will be one year, which may be extended by the Board of Governors of NIT Calicut depending on the performance during the first year.
Age Limit: The preferable age limit for Assistant Professor – Grade II (Pay Level 10) is 36 years as on 31st Dec. 2023. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD will be as per the Government of India norms.
