Organization Profile: Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, was founded with the noble vision to raise professionals and leaders of high academic calibre and unblemished character, nurtured with a strong motivation and commitment to serve humanity. The institution is the fulfillment of the vision of its founders Late Dr. D. G. S. Dhinakaran and the present Chancellor Dr. Paul Dhinakaran. Established in 1986 as an Engineering College, it was granted an autonomous status in 1999 and declared Deemed-to-be University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in recognition of its academic excellence by the Ministry of Human Resources Development under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide notification no 9-3-2000-U3 dated 23.6.2004 of the Government of India. Accredited by NAAC, the institution offers a wide array of Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral Degree programmes in various branches of Engineering, Biotechnology, Food processing and Agricultural Sciences. From a humble beginning of 180 students, the institution has rapidly grown to 8491 students and 452 faculty representing 18 academic departments.

Essential: Ph. D with First class in MBA. - Professor of Practice: Distinguished experts from various fields such as Engineering, Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Management Chartered Accountancy (CA), Commerce, Media, Civil Services, Armed Forces, Legal Profession and Public Administration, at least 15 years of service/experience, preferably at a senior level.
- Professor: A minimum of 15 years of experience in teaching / industry / research as evidenced by research papers in reputed journals/ patents of which at least 5 years should be in teaching at the level of Professor. (Retired Professors can also apply).
- Associate Professor: A minimum of 12 years of experience in teaching / industry / research as evidenced by research papers in reputed journals / patents.
- Assistant Professor A minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching / industry / research as evidenced by research papers in reputed journals / patents.
- Director (INNOVATION, INCUBATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP)
A Master’s degree, and preferably a Ph.D. in Engineering, Technology, Management, or allied disciplines, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in innovation management, entrepreneurship development, or leadership roles in academia, industry, or startup ecosystems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for spearheading the university’s innovation, incubation, and entrepreneurship initiatives by fostering a robust . startup ecosystem, strengthening industry-academia collaboration, and driving technology-driven societal impact. The role includes building strategic partnerships with venture capitalists, angel investors, and government funding agencies, promoting the commercialization of patents and products, and facilitating technology transfer. A proven track record in securing funding, mentoring startups, and integrating entrepreneurial thinking across academic and research ecosystem. - Asst.Prof./ Assoc.Prof. / Research Track
Ph.D. in Engineering & Technology / Computer Science & Technology with a proven track record in obtaining research grants from government funding agencies, along with a significant number of patents and publications in reputed journals. The ideal candidate is expected to conduct cutting-edge research inane or more of the University’s thrust areas Water, Food, Healthcare, and Energy—through impactful scientific and technological interventions. Responsibilities include initiating and managing sponsored research projects, collaborating with industry and academic peers, mentoring students at postgraduate and doctoral levels, and minimal teaching duties.
