Organization Profile: The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) is a premier, national-level Institute for Post Graduate, Fellow Programme and Mid-career/in-service education, research and consulting in rural management and allied fields. Founded in 1979, IRMA’s mission is to promote all-round sustainable rural development through professional management. The Verghese Kurien Policy Lab (VKPL) at IRMA undertakes research based on micro-data and helps evaluate central and state government’s policies and development programs. The methodological focus of the lab is on quasi and field experiments. VKPL is committed to sharing its research and field-level findings, and developmental strategies with policy-makers and implementing agencies. The lab’s central research themes include problems related with livelihood strategies, decentralization and governance, empowerment of women, financial inclusion, the relationship between rural households and markets, provision of public services, and the impact of rights-based schemes and programs.
Job Title: Research Fellow
Employment Type: Temporary
Project Title: “Impact Study of the SIP and UHV Programs”. The project is aimed to assess the impact of Universal Human Values (UHV) programs qualitatively and design questionnaires to capture the impact of FDP-UHV (for teachers), UHV-I & UHV-II (for students)
Eligibility:
Ph.D./Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university/institute specializing in Psychology,
Social Psychology, Human Resource Management, Social Science, or Education.
B. Proficiency in handling MS office.
C. Excellent command over oral and written English and Hindi language
D. Experience in carrying out qualitative data collection, transcription, and analysis
E. Experience in carrying out questionnaire design, data collection, and analysis
F. Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software, namely Atlas Ti or NVivo
Job Profile:
The responsibilities of the Research Fellow will include the following:
A. Be stationed at Anand, Gujarat, and be a part of the team undertaking the study at IRMA
B. Carry out data collection (mostly qualitative) in select Technical Institutions in India.
C. Transcribe and analyse audio data as per the guidance of the reporting officer(s).
D. Assist in designing data collection tools
E. Clean data, analyse and present it periodically
F. Write reports and such other communications as needed from time to time
G. Assist in other work related to the project
Remuneration: The appointment will be on a purely contractual basis with the consolidated payment for 12 months initially and likely to be extended based on the performance up to the duration of the project. Candidates with Ph.D. qualifications shall be considered for the Senior Research Fellow position with a consolidated remuneration of Rs.
40,000/- per month. Candidates with master’s degrees shall be considered with a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 30,000/- per month for the Research Fellow position.
