College Profile: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. At present the Institute has eleven departments, seven inter-disciplinary academic centres and five schools covering all the major engineering , science, healthcare, management and humanities disciplines, offering B.Tech., B.Des., M.A., M.Des., M.Tech., M.Sc., MBA and Ph.D. programmes. Within a short period of time, IIT Guwahati has been able to build up world class infrastructure for carrying out advanced research and has been equipped with state-of-the-art scientific and engineering instruments. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati’s campus is on a sprawling 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra around 20 kms from the heart of the city. - Assistant Professor Grade I (7th CPC Pay level 12): Candidates with at least 3 years of post-PhD teaching/research/industrial experience may be considered for this post

1. Pay and allowances will be as per Government of India rules.
2. Candidates should be preferably below 35 years of age for the position of Assistant Professor.
3. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates is applicable as per Government of India norms. Age relaxation in upper age limit in case of SC/ST = 5 years, OBC-NCL = 3 years, and PwD = 5 years (10 years for SC/ST and 8 years for OBC candidates).
Reserved category candidates must upload their valid SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD certificate issued by the Competent Government Authority in the prescribed format in support of their claim. Please note that OBC-NCL or EWS certificate must be a valid current certificate issued by the appropriate Authority as per GOI norms. Original certificates will be verified during the interview.
4. Degrees obtained by the candidate must be from a recognized University/Institute.
5. Certificates of Educational qualification (from 10th standard onwards), including the certificate issued mentioning the date of completion of PhD, must be uploaded.
6. All Experience certificates having the signature and seal of the employer, must be uploaded.
7. The CV to be uploaded by the candidate must contain his/her short and long-term research plan by highlighting his/her current and past research interests and achievements.
