Organization Profile: The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon’ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it.

Project Title: 3D Density Resolvability of the Crust and Mantle of IOGL Using Integrated
Approach of Gravity, Gravity Gradients, Geoid Anomalies (Project Code – R/CGG)

Department having vacancy: Geology and Geophysics

Qualification:  

  • Post-graduate degree in Physics/Mathematics/Geophysics/Geoscience/Earth Science with first class or Post-graduate degree in Physics/Mathematics/Geophysics/Geoscience/Earth Science.
  • Selected through a process described through the following – Scholars who are selected through National eligibility tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lecturership (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.

Job Location: Kharagpur, West Bengal

Pay Scale:  upto UPTO RS.37000(DEPENDING UPON QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE) (depending on qualification and experience)
