College Profile: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. At present the Institute has eleven departments, seven inter-disciplinary academic centres and five schools covering all the major engineering , science, healthcare, management and humanities disciplines, offering B.Tech., B.Des., M.A., M.Des., M.Tech., M.Sc., MBA and Ph.D. programmes. Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD with first class in the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record.
Experience:
Professor (Pay level 14A): A minimum of 10 years of experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution/institutions of comparable standards.
Associate Professor (Pay level 13A2): A PhD with first class in the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of 6 years of teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Gr. I, Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer.
Minimum requirements of qualification and/or experience may be relaxed in respect of exceptionally outstanding candidates.
