Organization Profile: If there is ever a heaven on earth, its here, its here, its here” is rightly said for Jammu & Kashmir, and now it is the home of one of the newest Indian Institute of Management, IIM Jammu. Jammu is a land of grand ancient temples, beautiful palaces nestled against the backdrop of the snow-capped Pir-Panjal Mountains, forested mountain ranges and river valleys. The temporary campus of IIM Jammu is being operated at Govt. College of Engineering & Technology, Old University Campus, Canal Road, Jammu. The permanent campus of IIM Jammu will come up at Jagti, Nagrota Road, Jammu (15kms from Airport on NH 33 ) over a sprawling area of 200 acres. The total covered area will be approximately 115800 area sq. mtrs (as per DPR) and is expected to be operative from 2021-22.

Qualification: 

• Professor (14 A): Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in the preceding degree, with a very good academic record throughout. Minimum 10 years of post-Ph.D. teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 4 years post Ph.D. experience should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution/institutions of comparable standards. He/ She should have high research, training and consulting credentials.

  • Ph.D. with 10 years of post- Ph.D. experience in teaching/research/industrial experience  out of which 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution/ institutions of comparable standards.
  • First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Master’s and Graduation Degrees
  • First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Class XII or Class X.
  • 5% relaxation for SC/ST/DAP and 3% relaxation for OBC in X, XII, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.
  • Minimum Two Papers in A*/A** Category Journals or Four Research Paper in “A – Category Journals” or Eight in “B – Category Journals” in the relevant area of specialisation.
  • Preference for FPM/Ph.D. guidance.

• Associate Professor (Level 13A2): Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in the preceding degree, with a very good academic record throughout. Minimum of 6 years of experience of which at least 3 years post Ph.D. experience should be at the level of Assistant Professor, and ability to interact with a diverse student body and executives, and ability to undertake research independently. Candidates from Industry (Government / PSU/ Research Organization) having experience of 6 years at the level equivalent to Assistant Professor.

  • Ph.D. with six years of post-Ph.D. experience out of which 3 years should be as Assistant Professor at Level-12 or equivalent / Candidates from Industry (Government / PSU / Research Organization) having of post-Ph.D. experience of 6 years at the level equivalent to Assistant Professor.
  • First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Master’s and Graduation Degrees
  • First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Class XII or Class X

• Professor of Practice : In order to be considered for the Professor of Practice, the individual must have substantial relevant experience of minimum 20 years with at least 5 years at a senior level position in industry or government with demonstrated understanding of and impact on practice and has the interest and potential to teach Leadership Development Program (LDP) courses as full- time activity.

  The Minimum qualification will be as per regular positions of Professor .

  • Ph.D. in the appropriate branch is desirable, but not essential. However, a lack of Ph.D. must be offset by demonstrated domain knowledge, obtained from the ‘field’.
  • First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Master’s and Graduation Degrees.
  • First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Class XII or Class X.

  Professor of Practice will be appointed initially for a period of one/two years and is renewable every year for a maximum period of up to 5 years based on his performance. The retirement age will be 65 years.

  The overall compensation of “Professor of Practice” will be equivalent to that of regular Full Professor. Selected candidates will get Consolidated Compensation, Accommodation, Medical Allowance, Term Insurance, Reimbursement of Telephone Bills, Incentive for Research Publications, Faculty Development Fund for attending National Conferences, Membership of Professional Bodies etc. as per IIM Jammu Rules. Faculty members are permitted to pursue MDPs and Management Consulting after meeting the minimum teaching requirements as per IIM Jammu Rules.

• Senior Consultants : Senior academicians and professionals are required at IIM Jammu for taking up assignments as consultant in developing the academic and research programs, academic administration and taking classes at degree awarding programs, organising senior level management development programs (MDPs) and conducting consulting assignments.
