Organization Profile: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by the Government of India with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country.

Essential Qualification:
Associate Professor(Mathematics)
- Full time Master’s Degree with good academic record with First Class or an equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities.
- Besides fulfilling the qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
- Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility conditions of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointments of Assistant Professors or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student is highly desirable.
- Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience in teaching and /or research and /or industry of which at least 2 years of post-PhD experience is desirable.
Assistant Professor (Polymer Science)
- Full time Master’s Degree with good academic record with First Class or an equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities.
- Besides fulfilling the qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.

- Full time First Class BE/B Tech and ME/M Tech in relevant discipline from a
recognized University. - Experience: At least 2 years post qualification experience in the relevant discipline. OR Full time First Class BE/B Tech and ME/M Tech in relevant discipline from a recognized University, and: Ph.D in the relevant discipline
Assistant Placement Consultant
- M.B.A (HRM/PM) with one year experience in the relevant area.
- Experience: At least 2 years post qualification experience in the relevant discipline.
Lecturer (Plastics Technology)
- Full time Bachelor’s degree with First Class or equivalent in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline.
If the candidate has a full time Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology, First Class or equivalent is required at full time Bachelors or Masters level. - Experience:
At least 1 year teaching experience in Polytechnic/Engg. College. Preference shall be given to M.E./M.Tech. Holder with First Class.
OR
Full time Bachelor’s degree with First Class or equivalent in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline.
If the candidate has a full time Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology, First
Class or equivalent is required at full time Bachelors or Masters level; and Ph.D in the relevant discipline
Lecturer (Chemistry)
- Full Time First Class Masters Degree in relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent at full time Bachelor’s or Mater’s level.
- Experience: At least 1 year teaching experience in Polytechnic/ Engg. College.
Remuneration range :
- Associate Professor (Mathematics): Rs. 46,400/- pm
- Assistant Professor (Plastics Technology): Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- pm
- Assistant Professor ( Polymer Science): Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- pm
- Assistant Professor (Chemical Engineering): Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- pm
- Assistant Professor (English): Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- pm
- Assistant Placement Consultant: Rs. 35,000/- pm (Consolidated)
- Lecturer (Plastics Technology): Rs. 30,000/- to 35,000/- pm
