Qualification and Experience: 

• Assistant Professor:

  B.E/ B.Tech/ B.S and M.E/ M.Tech/ M.S or Integrated M.Tech. in relevant branch with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
  *For Post No.1, in addition to the above qualification, VICT Certificate and exposure to
  “Marine Electrical Machinery” are desirable. ** For Post No. 2, Desirable: VICT Certificate

• Associate Professor:
  • Tech in Marine/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture.
  • First Class Certificate of Competency (MEO Class-I C.O.C)
  • Shall produce the TOTA/ VICT course on joining.

  Desirable:

  • Tech in Marine Engineering.
  • AECS course certificate.
  • Shall undergo the VICT course before joining duty.

  Experience:
  12 years of relevant experience out of which at least 2 years shall be in the position of Chief Engineer officer onboard merchant ships. (Experience as Full time Faculty member in a DG Shipping approved MTI will be counted as equivalent to Chief Engineer experience).

• Course In Charge:
  • Tech in Marine/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture.
  • First Class Certificate of Competency (MEO Class-I C.O.C)

  Desirable:

  (i) Ph.D in relevant discipline.

  (ii) M.Tech in Marine/ Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture/ Extra First Class Certificate of Competency.

  • AECS course certificate.
  • Shall undergo the VICT course before joining duty.

  Experience

  • 15 years of relevant experience out of which at least 2 years shall be in the position of Chief Engineer officer onboard merchant ships. (Experience as Full time Faculty member in a DG Shipping approved MTI will be counted as equivalent to Chief Engineer experience)

  AND

  • 2 years experience as a Faculty in a D.G shipping approved Maritime Training Institute. OR

  2 years experience at Senior Management level in Maritime related shore Industry.

• Director:
  • Tech in Marine/Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture.
  • First Class Certificate of Competency (MEO Class-I C.O.C)

  Desirable:

  • D in relevant discipline.
  • Tech in Marine/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture/ Extra First Class Certificate of Competency.
  • AECS course certificate.
  • Shall undergo the VICT course before joining duty.

  Experience

Term of Appointment: The initial period of appointment is for one year which may be extended up to 2 years. The engagement (on contract) will be for the whole year and there shall not be any vacation.

• Assistant Professor: Rs.42,000 /- per month for Ph.D. degree holders & Rs. 40,000/-per month for others.
• Associate Professor: Rs.1,25,000/- per month
• Course In Charge: Rs.1,48,000/- per month
• Director: Rs.1,60,000/- per month
