Qualification: Ph.D., Master’s degree, Bachelor’s Degree with First class in all the preceding degrees in Hotel Management branch, with an exemplary academic record throughout.
Location: Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu
Key Responsibilities:
The Academic Principal will be responsible for the overall academic and administrative leadership of the Chengalpattu campus, including but not limited to:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement academic strategies aligned with the college’s vision, mission, and industry trends in hospitality.
- Advise the management on curriculum development, program enhancement, and new course introductions.
- Ensure the college maintains its reputation for quality education and industry relevance.
- Foster strong relationships with industry partners for internships, placements, and guest lectures.
Academic Management:
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all academic programs, ensuring adherence to the academic calendar and quality standards. • Monitor and evaluate teaching, learning, and assessment practices to ensure continuous improvement.
- Promote innovative teaching methodologies, including practical, experiential, and technology-driven learning.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Faculty Leadership and Development:
- Provide visionary leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for faculty members.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, performance management, and appraisals. • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages research, industry engagement, and continuous learning among staff.
Student Success and Welfare:
- Cultivate a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Monitor student progress and academic achievement, implementing remedial actions where necessary.
- Oversee student support services, including counseling, extracurricular activities, and placement assistance.
- Address student concerns and ensure a positive overall student experience. Administration and Operations:
- Manage the campus budget and resources effectively, ensuring financial stability and optimal resource utilization.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of campus facilities, including culinary labs, bakery labs, restaurant labs, and other essential infrastructure. • Ensure compliance with all college policies, regulations, and relevant laws. • Represent the college at various forums, conferences, and community events.
Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, the local community, and industry stakeholders.
- Act as the lead ambassador and principal spokesperson for the Chengalpattu campus.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s Degree (or higher) in Hotel Management, Hospitality Administration, Tourism Management, or a related field from a recognized university (or equivalent grade).
- A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of combined experience in teaching, research, and administration within a recognized Hotel Management or Hospitality institution.
- Proven track record of at least 3-5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Vice Principal, Head of Department, Associate Professor, or equivalent) within a reputable educational institution.
- Experience in a 4-star or above category hotel at a managerial level (e.g., GM) for a minimum of 5 years will be an added advantage, especially when combined with teaching experience.
