Organization Profile: The Central University of Odisha has been established by the Parliament under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (No. 3C of 2009). It is one of the 15 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan period to address the concerns of “equity and access” and as per the policy of the Government of India to increase the access to quality higher education by people in less educationally developed districts which have a Graduate Enrollment Ratio of less than the national average of 11%.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • B.Sc. Agriculture degree from a recognized Institute / University with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale.
  • Master’s degree in relevant subject with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade (wherever grading system is followed) from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign university in any discipline of Agriculture.
  • National Eligibility Test (NET) qualified [conducted by the CSIR or ICAR or UGC [or] similar test accredited by the UGC like the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) or who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 or 2022 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET. Provided the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/ Bye-laws/ Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities / Colleges / Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:
    a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
    b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
    c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
    d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at leastone is in a refereed/ peer-reviewed journal;
    e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in National / International conferences / seminars / symposiums, sponsored / funded / supported by the UGC / ICSSR / CSIR / ICAR or any similar agency.
    The fulfillment of conditions (a, b, c) is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

Job Location: Koraput, Odisha

Pay Scale: Selected candidates shall be paid an honorarium of ₹ 1500/- per lecture subject to maximum of ₹ 50,000/- per month.

  • The engagement is purely temporary. Minimum eligibility (Qualifications) shall be as per UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for appointment of Teachers, 2018.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.

  • The Guest Faculty shall not be given the benefit of allowances, pension, gratuity and leave etc. as admissible to the regular teachers.
