Organization Profile: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by the Government of India with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country.

Qualification:
Assistant Professor: Full time 1st Class B.E/B.Tech and M.E. / M.Tech. in relevant discipline from a recognized University, and Ph.D. in relevant Discipline
Asst. Professor (English):
- Full time Master’s Degree with good academic record with First Class or an equivalent GPA in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities.
- Besides fulfilling the qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET)conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
- Candidates who have been awarded Ph.D Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility
conditions of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointments of Assistant Professors Or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges /Institutions
Asst. Professor ( Management): Full time First Class Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
Asst. Professor (Mathematic, Applied Physics):
- Full time Master’s Degree with good academic record with First Class or an equivalent GPA in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities.
- Besides fulfilling the qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test(NET)conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.

- Full time graduate in any Discipline with four years’ experience in the relevant area.
OR - M.B.A.(HRM/PM) with two years’ experience in relevant area..
Remuneration range :
- Assistant Professor: Rs.35,000/-to 40,000/-per month(Consolidated)
- Lecturer :Rs.35,000/- to 40,000/-per month(Consolidated)
- Placement consultant: Rs.40,000/- per month (Consolidated)
