Organization Profile: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by the Government of India with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country.

Qualification:
Associate Professor (Production/Mechanical/Plastic /Polymer Engineering)
- Full time First Class BE/B.Tech. and ME/M.Tech. in in the relevant discipline from a
recognized University with Ph. D in the relevant discipline. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student is highly desirable
Assistant Professor (English, Mathematics, Chemistry)
- Full time Master’s Degree with good academic record with first class or an equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities. Besides fulfilling the qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
- Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility conditions of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointments of Assistant Professors or equivalent positions in Universities Colleges/Institutions.
Assistant Professor (Material Science/Physics)
- Full time First Class BE/B.Tech. & ME/M.Tech. in relevant discipline from a recognized University. Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
Assistant Professor (Plastic /Polymer Engineering)

- Full time First Class BE/B.Tech. & ME/M.Tech. in relevant discipline from a recognized University, and Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
Remuneration range :
- Associate Professor: Rs.46,400/- per month
- Assistant Professor: Rs.35,000/-to 40,000/-per month
