Organization Profile: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by the Government of India with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country.

Essential Qualification:
Assistant Professor (Chemistry)
- Minimum Qualifications:
(i) Full time Master’s Degree with good academic record with First Class or an equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
(iii) Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility conditions of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointments of Assistant Professors or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges /Institutions - Experience: At least 2 years post qualification experience in the relevant discipline.
Lecturer (Mechanical)
- Minimum Qualifications:
i. Engineering/Technology
Full time Bachelor’s degree with First Class or equivalent in Engineering / Technology in the
relevant discipline.
If the candidate has a full time Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology, First Class or equivalent is required at full time Bachelors or Masters level. - Experience:-
At least 1 year teaching experience in Polytechnic/Engg. College. Preference shall be given to M.E /M. Tech. holder with First Class.
Lecturer (Mathematics):
- Full time or First equivalent Class Masters degree in relevant discipline with First class or equivalent at full time Bachelor’s or Master’s level
- Experience: At least 1 year teaching experience in Polytechnic /Engg. College.
Lecturer (Electrical & Electronics):
- Minimum Qualifications:
i. Engineering/Technology
Full time Bachelor’s degree with First Class or equivalent in Engineering / Technology in the relevant discipline.
If the candidate has a full time Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology, First Class or equivalent is required at full time Bachelors or Masters level. - Experience:–

- Minimum Qualifications:
Full time First Class B.E./B.Tech, in appropriate/ relevant discipline with minimum 1 year experience
OR
First Class Full time Diploma in appropriate branch /DPT/DPMT/ PGD-PPT, with minimum 3 years experience.
Placement Consultant
- Minimum Qualifications:
Full time graduate in any discipline with four years experience in the relevant area.
OR
M.B.A.(HRM/PM) with two years experience in the relevant area.
Remuneration range :
- Assistant Professor (Chemistry): Rs. 35,000 to 40,000/- p.m.
- Lecturer (Mechanical): Rs. 30,000 to 35,000- p.m.
- Lecturer (Mathematics): Rs. 30,000 to 35,000- p.m.
- Lecturer (Electrical & Electronics): Rs. 30,000 to 35,000- p.m.
- Lecturer (Plastics Engineering): Rs. 30,000 to 35,000- p.m.
- Instructor (Skill Development): Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 30,000/- p.m.
- Placement Consultant: Consolidated Remuneration of Rs. 40,000/- p.m.
