Essential Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Statistics with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. Besides this, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar UGC-accredited test such as SLET/SET, or must hold a Ph.D degree awarded as per the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016. Candidates who registered for a Ph.D programme before July 11, 2009 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET, provided the Ph.D was awarded in regular mode, the thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners, an open viva voce was conducted, at least two research papers were published from the Ph.D work with one in a refereed journal, and at least two papers were presented in UGC/ICSSR/CSIR sponsored conferences or seminars. Candidates holding a Ph.D from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in the QS, THE, or ARWU world university rankings are also eligible.

Desirable: Computer programming skills using statistical software such as SPSS, R, Python, or SAS. A Ph.D qualification is also desirable.

Salary Details: Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of ₹47,000 per month for Ph.D holders, and ₹45,000 per month for other contract teachers.
