Organization Profile: The seed for the establishment and growth of TANUVAS was sown as early as 1876, when the Madras Veterinary College was started as an Agricultural School in Chennai to offer diploma and certificate course in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. The institute attained the status of a college in the year 1903 (01.10.1903), when it started functioning at Dobbin Hall, Chennai and admitted 20 students for a three-year diploma course called GMVC (Graduate of Madras Veterinary College).

Employment Type: Whole-time basis on Consolidated Pay (Contractual Basis) for a period of eleven months.

Qualification: 

1 Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Professor in the discipline of Veterinary and Animal Sciences must possess recognized veterinary qualifications included in the first and second schedule in Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984 and a valid registration certificate with State Veterinary Council / Veterinary Council of India. They must possess B.V.Sc & A.H / B.V.Sc with at least 60% of marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale, wherever the grading system is followed. Further they must possess a Master’s degree in the concerned / relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale, wherever the grading system is followed.
2 Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Librarian must possess a recognized Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Science or Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with a minimum of 55% of marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale, wherever the grading system is followed.
3 Candidates applying for the post of Deputy Director of Physical Education must possess a
recognized Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports or Physical Education or Sports Science with a minimum of 55% of marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale, wherever the grading system is followed.
4 Candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Test conducted by ASRB / ICAR / UGC /
CSIR or a similar test conducted by the UGC like SLET / SET in the concerned discipline will
be given preference.
5 The upper age limit on the date of the advertisement shall be 40 years.
