Required Educational Qualifications for Junior Engineer (Electrical): Candidates should have
- Degree in Engineering in the relevant field with 2 years of experience
- OR Diploma in Engineering with 5 years of experience
- Desirable: Experience in electrical installation and maintenance, LT/HT distribution systems, transformers, substations, DG sets, UPS and power backup, panels and cabling, earthing, fire alarm/ELV systems, HVAC and central air-conditioning systems, estimation and costing, electrical safety and statutory compliance in Central/State Govt. bodies, Central Universities, CFTIs, IITs, NITs or IIITs
Age Limit: The upper age limit is 32 years for all three posts, counted as on 28 November 2026, the last date of online application. Only the date of birth in the 10th certificate or birth certificate is accepted. Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen is as per Government of India norms. Contractual or outsourced employees of IIIT Pune get relaxation equal to their continuous service in an equivalent post, up to a maximum of 10 years. Regular employees of Central Govt./State Govt./Central Autonomous Bodies/CFTIs/IITs/NITs/IIITs/PSUs with at least 3 years of continuous regular service get up to 5 years of relaxation, if the post is in the same or an allied cadre.

- The experience certificate must be on official letterhead, signed by the competent authority, and must show the designation and pay level/pay during the service period

The fee is non-refundable and is waived for regular employees of IIIT Pune. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application and pay the fee for each post.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected through the following stages
- Screening of applications and verification of eligibility by the Screening Committee
- Stage-I Written Examination (objective MCQs, with 1/4th negative marking)
- Stage-II Job Oriented Practical Test (JoPT)
- Final merit list and document verification
For Junior Superintendent, Stage-I is a 100-mark, 90-minute exam (General Aptitude 40 marks and Domain Knowledge 60 marks). The cut-off is 50% for GEN/OBC/EWS and 45% for SC/ST. Stage-II is a 50-mark, 60-minute practical test on computer applications, which is qualifying only (minimum 50%). Final merit is based on Stage-I marks.
For Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical), Stage-I is a 50-mark, 60-minute exam and Stage-II is a 50-mark, 60-minute practical or trade test. Final merit is based on the total of both stages (100 marks). Up to 8 times the number of advertised posts may be shortlisted for Stage-II.
