Essential Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or other relevant domains. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible to apply, though if selected, they will be offered a lower fellowship amount until they qualify for the eligible degree.
Desirable: Candidates with experience in Computational Physics/Chemistry and Theoretical Physics/Chemistry will be preferred.

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 45 years, with a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, Physically Handicapped, and Female candidates as per Government of India rules.
Emoluments per month: Rs. 58,000 per month plus applicable HRA for RA-1 (fresh PhD candidates after thesis defense), and Rs. 61,000 per month plus applicable HRA for RA-2 (candidates with one year of RA-1 experience after PhD thesis defense). Candidates who have submitted their thesis but not yet received the degree will be offered Rs. 42,000 per month as SRF until they qualify.
