About Organization : Yudhistir Mishra Law College formerly known as Balangir Law College was established in the year 1982-83 to impart legal education to the students of Balangir and neighboring districts. The college is a premier law college under MS Law University, Cuttack which was set up on 28th April 2021 to be the center of excellence in legal education and research. Earlier the College was permanently affiliated with Sambalpur University.

Essential Qualifications:
A candidate for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor in Law shall possess the following qualifications:
(i) A Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever a grading system is followed, from a recognised Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University;
OR
(ii) The candidate shall have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET/SET;
OR
(iii) Candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the applicable University Grants Commission Regulations governing the minimum standards and procedure for award of the Ph.D. Degree, and who are otherwise eligible under the applicable UGC Regulations, shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET, subject to fulfilment of the conditions prescribed by the UGC from time to time.
For the discipline of Law, the above qualification shall be read subject to the applicable provisions of the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff and the Bar Council of India Rules of Legal Education, 2008, as
amended from time to time. A relaxation of 5% is the minimum qualifying marks at the Master’s degree, from 55% to 50%, shall be applicable to candidates belonging to the categories and in the manner prescribed under the applicable UGC Regulations.

Pay Scale: The pay, allowances and other service conditions of the Principal and Assistant Professor shall be governed by the applicable UGC/State Government/University/BCI norms and the rules of the College, subject to approval of the competent authority. The appointment shall be subject to the service conditions prescribed by the College and the applicable statutory/regulatory authorities from time to time.
