Qualification:

• Assistant Professor Grade-II
  • Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor Grade-I
  • Ph.D.
  • 03 years after Ph.D. or 06 years total teaching and research experience in reputed academic Institute / R&D labs / relevant industry.
• NOTE :
  (1) All new entrants shall have Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline and shall have first class in the preceding degrees.
  (2) For existing faculty members who completed their Ph.D. along-with their normal teaching load of Institute or quality improvement programme, the enrolment period of Ph.D. will be counted as teaching experience.
  (3) Contribution to Institute Administration shall be recommended by concerned Head or Chairman and approved by the Director. Contribution to departmental Administration shall be recommended by concerned Head and approved by the Director.
  (4) * For faculty in the Department of Architecture, following shall be essential qualification without insisting on credit point requirements at Assistant Professor level:
  (iii) M.Arch. or M.Plan. with one year professional experience: Assistant Professor at Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000;
  (iv) For higher cadres the educational qualifications and credit point requirement shall remain same as given in the aforesaid table for Engineering and Sciences.

Pay Scale:

• Assistant Professor Grade-II
  • Level-10 / AGP 6000 (Entry pay 70,900/-)
• Assistant Professor Grade-I
  • Level-12 / AGP 8000 (Entry pay 1,01,500/-)

How to Apply: 

• Application form must be submitted in online mode and its hardcopy to be submitted in person or sent by speed/registered post to the Institute.
• To submit the application online, click on the recruitment portal (https://vnitrec.samarth.edu.in/) on the institute website: www.vnit.ac.in and register on the recruitment portal.
• Applicants must read the instructions carefully, ensure his/her eligibility for the post in respect of qualification and other requisite criteria, fill up the online application form and upload the scanned copies of relevant original documents, certificates etc.
• On completion of filling the online application form, please print submitted application form, all uploaded documents along with proof of payment of applicable application fee from the online recruitment portal.
• It will be the responsibility of the applicant to upload the documents of conclusive evidences for all the claims and information, while applying.
• All the pages of printed application form, certificates/testimonials, fee receipt, and uploaded documents must be serially numbered, self-attested, and total number of pages must be written on the first page of the application form. The same should be sent/submitted to The Registrar, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, South Ambazari Road, Nagpur – 440010, Maharashtra, so as to reach on or before the last date and time of receipt of hard copy of Application Form in the Institute. The Envelope containing the application form must be superscribed as “Application for the post of …………………….. in the Department of …………………………, Application ID No. ……………….”.
• The decision about eligibility shall be taken only on the basis of hardcopy (of the finally submitted online application) received by the Institute on or before last date of submission of hardcopy.
• Deadline for submission of online application: 11:30 p.m. on 25th August, 2025.
• Deadline of receipt of hard copy of Application Form at VNIT Nagpur: 5:30 p.m. on
  1st September 2025.
