A semi-urban University located at Surat city, the University has a campus spread over 210 acres. The University, re-accredited ‘A’ grade with 3.02 CGPA by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council in 2017, is also accredited with ‘B++’ grade with 2.90 CGPA under Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) by Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat, Education Department, Government of Gujarat in 2016. The university was originally established under the South Gujarat University Act, 1965 passed by the Gujarat State Legislative Assembly.

Qualifications:
- Distinguished experts, eminent professionals, industry leaders, practitioners and persons of eminence from various fields are invited for engagement as Professor of Practice, as per the UGC Guidelines for Engaging Professor of Practice in Universities and Colleges. Persons who are in the teaching profession, serving or retired, are not eligible. Department-wise eligibility criteria are given on the University website.
Salary:
- Honorarium of ₹2,000 per hour, as per University norms. Mileage or travelling allowance is payable at the rates prescribed by the Government of Gujarat when travel is required for University work.

The first batch of applications is accepted up to 30th October 2026 (11:59 hrs). After that, applications are accepted from the 1st to the 20th of every month up to 30th July 2027.
