The Speech Research Group, SSN CE, is seeking applications, for the posts of Senior Project Officer / Project Officer / Project Associate. They will be working on National Language Translation Mission (NLTM): BHASHINI, funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY), Govt. of India (A consortium project headed by IIT Madras). The objective is to develop Indian Language technology systems & products and deploy them in the field with the help of start-ups.

Project Details: The candidate’s day to day role will involve in developing signal processing and machine learning algorithms to develop assessment tools, speech recognition and text-to-speech synthesis systems for speakers with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder.
Required Skillset: Python and related libraries, MATLAB

Duration: 3 years, starting from July 2022
WHO CAN APPLY?Â
- Applicants with B.E./B.Tech. in CSE / ECE or IT/EEE/BME
- Have prior knowledge and experience in digital signal processing and system building using Python and related libraries.
- Applicants with M. E./M. Tech. in ECE /Â CSE / BME with interest in pursuing Ph. D
- Applicants with Ph. D degree with interest in continuing their research as a post-doctoral fellow (in the area of speech technology)
OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS:Â Â
- Having in-depth knowledge in digital signal processing (preferably in Speech Processing) and Machine learning for speech applications
- Comfortable with Linux
Salary: Based on the academic qualification(s) and experience, starting from Rs. 25,000/- up to Rs. 60,000 (including HRA)
