Organization Profile: Our research center (SCMIA) is one of a kind in India as it is focused on conducting translational research in the medical imaging domain and has dedicated access to engineering (networking technologies, robotics, etc.), computational (servers, GPU workstations etc.), and medical (MRI, CT imaging scanners and data) facilities. The center is located at Symbiosis’ Lavale campus between the Engineering Institute (Symbiosis Institute of Technology) and the Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Center (SUHRC). The successful candidate must be highly motivated, goal-oriented, and have a proven ability to solve image analysis problems associated with musculoskeletal system disorders and orthopedic biomechanics.
Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant (RA) (02 Nos.). We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to work in one or more of the following research domains: Medical Image Analysis, Digital Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence (Deep and Machine learning), Medical Robotics, and Virtual/Augmented Reality. The initial appointment (probation) is for one year and will be extended by more than one year solely based on performance. Further, the candidates will get all the research experience to prepare for their higher education if required.

Essential Qualifications: Minimum qualification is M.Tech/ M.S./M.E./ M.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics and Telecommunication/Applied Mathematics degrees. OR Ph.D Degree in one of the research domains with medical imaging focus.
Candidates with GATE/NET or UGC/CSIR/ICMR DBT/RGNF/MANF/DST fellows are preferred.
Desirable Qualifications: Applicants with hands-on experience in some or multiple of the following technical areas will be preferred: 1. Data analytics/modelling with medical imaging domain expertise. 2. Data science/ ML and AI experience, including Scikit Learn, Tensor flow and Pytorch libraries. 3. Deployment of Python codes for real-time execution. 4. Development of connectivity interfaces with data sources. 5. Technical knowledge of medical image analysis and synthesis operations. 6. Development of game environment in Unity 3D.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced modeling and medical image analytics support to projects in SCMIA.
- Lead the development, testing, and implementation of Deep/Machine learning models.
- Handle computational and administrative requirements NVIDIA DGX A100 GPU server.
- Work in liaison with the team of clinicians, radiologists, technicians, surgeons, and other engineers.
- Develop and maintain test scripts and other documentation and train the new recruits and students.
Project Duration: Initial will be for ONE year
Stipend: As per the SIU norms of Research Assistant position and based on the experience/educational qualification.
