Institution Profile: National Institute of Technology Hamirpur is one of the thirty-one NITs of the country, which came into existence on 7th August 1986 as Regional Engineering College, a joint and cooperative enterprise of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. At the time of inception, Institute had only two departments i.e, Civil and Electrical Engineering having an intake of 30 students in each. On 26th June 2002, REC Hamirpur was awarded the status of Deemed University and upgraded to National Institute of Technology. NIT Hamirpur is an institute of National importance set up by an act of Parliament namely the National Institute of Technology Act 2007 which received the accent of the President of India on 5th June, 2007. Required Educational Qualifications for Project Assistant: Candidates should have
- Diploma or B.Tech., and candidates with higher qualifications can also apply under the Internship program of the concerned Institute
- At least 60% marks from a recognized university
- Desirable: Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, quality assessment, data collection and data processing tools, and basic knowledge of data analysis
Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications, as per the English text of the notification. The Hindi text states 30 years, so candidates should confirm this from the official notification. The upper age limit is relaxed by up to 5 years for reserved category candidates (SC/ST/PwD) and by 3 years for OBC non-creamy layer candidates.
