Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and academically accomplished Principal to lead an Engineering College, providing strong academic leadership, institutional administration, faculty development, regulatory compliance and strategic growth.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Engineering & Technology education, academic administration, research, accreditation, statutory compliance and institutional development.
Eligibility – As per Anna University Norms
Candidates should meet the applicable Anna University eligibility requirements for Principal of an affiliated Engineering College:
- Ph.D. degree in the relevant branch of Engineering & Technology.
- First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch of Engineering & Technology.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Teaching / Research / Industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience at the level equivalent to Professor.
- At least 2 successful Ph.D. scholars guided as Supervisor / Co-Supervisor.
- Minimum 8 research publications in SCI / SCIE / UGC / AICTE-approved journals.
- All academic qualifications should be from recognized/UGC-approved institutions, as applicable.
- Candidates should satisfy the applicable Anna University/AICTE norms at the time of appointment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Provide overall academic leadership and ensure high standards in teaching and learning.
- Monitor academic performance, curriculum delivery, examination and student outcomes.
- Promote outcome-based education and continuous academic improvement.
- Guide Heads of Departments and faculty members in achieving academic objectives.
Faculty & Research Development
- Lead faculty recruitment, development, appraisal and performance management.
- Promote research, publications, consultancy, funded projects, patents and Ph.D. activities.
- Encourage interdisciplinary research and industry-academia collaboration.
- Support faculty members in improving research quality and academic credentials.
Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Anna University, AICTE, UGC and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Lead institutional processes related to NAAC, NBA and accreditation/quality initiatives.
- Maintain academic and statutory records and ensure readiness for inspections.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory reports, approvals and compliance documents.
Administration & Institutional Development
- Manage the overall functioning of the College in coordination with the Management.
- Develop and implement institutional strategic plans.
- Improve student admissions, retention, placements and academic results.
- Manage budgets, infrastructure development and resource utilization.
- Strengthen industry relationships, MoUs, placements and student employability initiatives.
Student Development
- Improve student discipline, academic performance and overall development.
- Promote internships, industry exposure, innovation, entrepreneurship and placement opportunities.
- Ensure effective grievance redressal and student support systems.

Preferred Profile
Candidates currently working as Principal / Dean / Professor / Director / Academic Administrator in reputed Engineering Colleges, Universities or similar higher-education institutions are preferred.
