Organization Profile: The Radhakrishnan University Education Commission of 1949 emphasised the need for establishing Agricultural Universities in India., Subsequently, the indo-American team consistitued under the Chairmanship of Dr. K.R. Damle (1955), the then Vice-president of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, suggested a system of education for Indian as followed in the Land Grant Colleges of USA. The Planning Commission Committee felt the inadequacy of trained personnel for substantial output in agricultural operations with the then set up of research, education and extension in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and allied fields. In course of time, these recommendations led to the creation of the agricultural universities to accomplish the integration of teaching, research and extension.

Qualification:

Professor (Agricultural Science, Forestry Science, Veterinary Science, Agril. Engg. & Technology, Basic Science & Humanities, Community Science)

  • Minimum 2nd Class Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Veterinary/Forestry/Agril. Engineering/Basic Science/Community Science subject with at least 55% marks/equivalent OGPA.
  • Minimum 2nd Class Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks/equivalent OGPA (Example for Professor in Agronomy, a candidate must have M.Sc. (Ag.) Degree in Agronomy).
  • Must have Ph.D. Degree in the concerned subject (Example for Professor in Agronomy, a candidate must have Ph.D. degree in Agronomy).
  • A relaxation of 5% marks in Bachelor’s Degree level and in the Master’s degree level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Disability (PwD).

Professor (Fishery Science)

  • Minimum 2nd Class Bachelor’s Degree in Fishery Science with at least 55% marks/equivalent OGPA.

Fill in the form completely and attach self-attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets of all examinations passed, research publications and other supporting documents. Candidates must also attach the signed photocopy of the fee deposit receipt along with the original counterfoil. Send the complete application by Speed Post / Registered Post to the Registrar, OUAT, Bhubaneswar-751003, Odisha, so as to reach on or before 5.00 PM of 28th October 2026. Applications received after the due date and time will not be entertained. Write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ______” on the envelope along with the advertisement number and date. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application, with a separate fee, for each post.
