Minimum Qualification

• Ph.D. from Institutes of National Importance (IITs, IISc, NITs, IISERs) or equivalent globally reputed institutions
• Candidates with post-doctoral, applied research, or relevant industry experience will be preferred

Role Overview:  Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching, applied research, laboratory development, and industry-linked projects in the area of digital and smart manufacturing. The role focuses on practical implementation, system-level understanding, and alignment with Industry 4.0 / 5.0 practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Manufacturing Technologies, Automation, and Digital Manufacturing
• Develop project-based and experiential learning aligned with industry needs
• Guide students in capstone projects, internships, and research work
• Undertake applied research and publish in reputed journals and conferences
• Participate in funded research, consultancy, and industry-sponsored projects
• Support development of advanced laboratories and Centers of Excellence
• Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to institutional initiatives

Required Skill Set

• Knowledge of digital and smart manufacturing systems
• Exposure to automation, control systems, and industrial IoT
• Experience in PLC, Scada, CPS and MES
• Experience with manufacturing data analytics, AI and ML applications (Python preferred)
• Understanding of process modelling, simulation, and digital twin concepts
• Industrial Engineering, Reliability and Quality control
• Project Management and Product Life cycle Management
• Ability to work on industry-integrated projects
