Organization Profile: ni-msme was originally set up as Central Industrial Extension Training Institute (CIETI) in New Delhi in 1960 as a Department under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Government of India. It was decided to keep it free from the tardy and impeding administrative controls and procedures, so that the Institute can play a pivotal role in the promotion of small enterprise. Therefore the Institute was shifted to Hyderabad in 1962, and was renamed as Small Industry Extension Training (SIET) Institute.

Qualification: 

• Director
  i. First class Master’s degree and Ph.D in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Management, Economics, Innovation Studies, Public Policy, Engineering, Agri business, Food processing. Import and Export Management any related discipline relevant to MSME development, from a recognized and reputed university/institution.
  ii. The candidate must have pursued all academic qualifications as a regular full-time student from a recognized university. Part-time, correspondence, or distance mode degrees are not considered as eligible.
• Faculty Member (Core Stream)
  (i) First class Master’s Degree and Ph.D in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Management, Economics, Innovation Studies, Public Policy, Engineering, Agri business, Food processing. Import and Export Management any related discipline relevant to MSME development, from a recognized and reputed university/institution.
  (ii) The candidate must have pursued all academic qualifications as a regular full-time student from a recognized university. Part-time, correspondence, or distance mode degrees are not considered eligible.
• Faculty Member (Technology)
  i. First class master’s degree and Ph.D in any Engineering discipline, from a recognized
  and reputed University/Institution.
  ii.All academic qualifications as a regular full-time student from a recognized university
  would be desirable.
• Faculty Member (Trade & Marketing)
  i. First class master’s degree and Ph.D in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Management, Economics, Innovation Studies, Public Policy, Engineering, Agri business, Food processing. Import and Export Management any related discipline relevant to MSME development, from a recognized and reputed university/institution.
  ii. All academic qualifications as a regular full-time student from a recognized university
  would be desirable
