Organization Profile: Mazumdar Shaw Medical Foundation (MSMF) has been well-known for carrying out translational research and celebrating its 10th anniversary. MSMF with Narayana Health (NH) has created a unique hospital-assisted research environment. MSMF has five major centers: Mazumdar Shaw Center for Translational Research (MSCTR), Technology Business Incubator (TBI), Advanced Diagnostic Research Center (ADRC) and Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Outreach Program (MSCOP). MSMF operates Neuroscience Research Programs in association with the Narayana Institute of Neuroscience (NIN), Narayana Health (NH).

Research Position: Project Associate

Title of the project: The candidate will execute cross-project activities under Neuroscience Research Programs.

Sponsoring/Funding Agency: SKAN Research Trust

Essential Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Translational Medicine, Cell/Molecular Biology, Stem cell technology and Regenerative Medicine or allied biomedical sciences domains.
2. Available to work in MSMF on-campus regularly.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Computational thinking and Machine Learning skills (e.g., R, Python-based programming skills)
2. Neuroscience MSCs/MTechs/MPhils are preferable. Medical candidates with relevant skills are also welcome.

Job Duration:

The initial appointment will be for six months (probationary period), extendable based on performance in the first six months.

Stipend: Competitive

Job Roles:

• Cell culture & wet lab operations: Performing and maintaining cell culture protocols, conducting laboratory investigations, processing biosamples, and ensuring quality control measures for neuroscience research studies.
• Patient-based research engagement with GCP E6 (R3) compliance: Identifying, screening, enrolling eligible study participants with informed consent; collecting demographic, clinical data, and biosamples; research data entry, deidentification, and preparing documents for regulatory bodies.
• Laboratory & translational investigation governance: Operational feasibility analyses of study proposal, meticulously recording experimental results, adhering to industry standards and biosafety-compliant protocols.
• Project activity support: Work in alignment with team members, including scheduling experiments and assessments, managing equipment and consumables supplies, and tracking timelines across lab-based and clinical studies, presenting assigned research articles and research work from time to time. Assist seniors with grant writing, ideation, SOP preparation, quarterly report submission, manuscript management, and publication process.
• Computational analysis (optional but preferable): Analysis of primary (wet lab experiments) and secondary (bioinformatic and neuroinformatic) data; interpretation of results.
