Organization Profile: The history of agricultural education in Kerala can be traced back to the year 1896 when a scheme was evolved in the erstwhile Travancore State to train a few young men in scientific agriculture at the Demonstration Farm, Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram, presently, the Cropping Systems Research Centre under Kerala Agricultural University. Agriculture was introduced as an optional subject in the middle school classes in the State in 1922 when an Agricultural Middle School was started at Aluva, Ernakulam District. The popularity and usefulness of this school led to the starting of similar institutions at Kottarakkara and Konni in 1928 and 1931 respectively.

- MSc (Horticulture) minimum 55% marks
- Applicants should have Master’s Degree in the concerned discipline with minimum 55% marks and NET qualification. Preference will be given to the candidates with PhD in Floriculture and Landscaping / M.Sc.(Horticulture) in Floriculture and Landscaping. However, in the absence of the same, candidates with Master’s degree in other disciplines of Horticultural Sciences will be considered.

How to Apply: The posting is purely temporary for 59 days from the date of joining or till a regular posting/ engagement of Assistant Professor in a centralized manner from University is effected or a fresh posting of Assistant Professor (Contract) is effected against the post, whichever is earlier. Interested candidates may appear for the walk- in- interview on 23-09-26 at 11 AM at Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, College of Agriculture, Vellayani. Candidates should appear for verification of certificates at 10AM. They should bring certificates in original and a copy to prove qualification, date of birth, experience (if any) etc. The candidate will have no claim in the University other than to receive the remuneration attached to the post. The appointment will not confer on him/her any right of permanency or regularization in KAU.
