Organization Profile: NIT Manipur started its first session on 2nd August 2010 with only three branches of Engineering namely – Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering at Government Polytechnic, Takyelpat Campus. It is presently functioning in its Permanent Campus at Langol, Imphal, with two more Engineering Branches namely – Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Job Title:

Title of Research Project: Mechanical properties and microstructural evaluation of underwater friction stir additive manufactured AA6082 Aluminum alloy.
Employment Type: Temporary
Project Duration: 11 months (may be extended for one more year)
Sponsored by: Technology Innovation Hub, IIT Guwahati, under DST, Govt. of India
Qualification: B.E./B. Tech (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Material Science and Metallurgy) with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA and above throughout careers with GATE. Or, M.E./M.Tech/PhD in Manufacturing/ Machine Design/(CAD/CAM)/Robotics & Automation with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA with GATE/without GATE Score. Pay will be fixed based on the valid Gate Score.
Desirable: Experience in handling projects (may be in M. Tech final year project) related to welding, Manufacturing, Machine Design/(CAD/CAM)/Robotics & Automation, FE modelling and simulation, etc. Software- SolidWorks, FEA software, ORIGIN, MATLAB etc. selected candidate should work with Co-PI Institutions also.
Job Location: Imphal, Manipur
Fellowship: For, M. Tech/M.E./PhD: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA (as per applicable rate), For B. Tech, with valid Gate Score Rs:22,000/-(consolidated).
Selection Process: The selection process will be based on the basis of interview. The appointment will be purely on contract basis, the post has been created for the execution of the research project and selected candidates shall not be an employee and should not have any claim of any benefit on that account. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. NIT Manipur reserves the right to reject any or all the application without assigning any reasons thereof.
